Owned and operated by the Hieb family since 1987, The Doc’s Place offers inside and, seasonally permitted, alfresco dining in a luxury yacht basin - Harbour Cove Marina.

 

We are open 11 months of the year (closed in January) and serve a traditional breakfast on Sundays, and lunch and dinner daily. Luncheons include jumbo lump crab meat Caesar salad – delicious; cheese steaks and Kobi burgers – the best around; and a selection of hot and cold deli sandwiches. Dinners embrace fresh fish; steaks and chops (our beef is competitive with any ‘steak’ house), shell fish - shrimp, clams and mussels; and accompaniments such as pomme de terre frits, cooked-to-order pasta and seasonal vegetables from New Jersey & the world!

 

Our bar introduced this area to 7˝ ounce martinis and Manhattans, poured to a meniscus! Our wine list is an oenophilist’s delight.

 

Our limited seating Thanksgiving Day dinner is legendary. Our private parties are spectacular.  Try us — again!

David and Geoffrey Hieb run the operation.  Geoffrey graduated from The Restaurant School, Philadelphia in 1987 and began working in Doc’s in October of that year.  David completed a minor league baseball career in the Texas Rangers’ farm system and returned to the Jersey shore to complete his accounting degree at The Richard Stockton College of New Jersey.  He joined the family business in 1995.

Geoffrey designs the menus used in the restaurant and for the private parties that we cater on– and off-site.  He’s our wine enthusiast and has travel abroad, most recently to Chile, to bring vineyard-knowledge to his wine list.

 

David pays attention to the business side of things, dealing with budgets & forecasts, cost-of-goods, availability of product and pricing — balancing all to provide our customers with a superior meal or drink at a fair price.
